About
Uplift Board Game Sessions provides board game sessions to children in hospitals and foster care facilities, as well as to the elderly in nursing homes in the Colorado Springs area.
Board game sessions can be one-on-one sessions or group sessions with multiple games being played simultaneously on different tables.During a board game session, we teach the games, oversee game play, and also join in the game play during one-on-one sessions. When possible, we also try to spend time getting to know each human being so they know they are loved!
Games are hand-picked and tailored for the age group and location.
Our games are carefully researched and tested modern designer board games (not your typical "Candyland" or "Monopoly" type games).
We also donate board games to hospitals, foster care facilities, and nursing homes.

Monetary Donation
We are so grateful for any size donation!Our biggest cost is our game library. Board games are expensive! (especially games that are out of print)Example: We want to include "Pitch Car Mini" in our library. We need two copies for group sessions. The two cheapest currently on ebay are $138.74 (with shipping) and $159.58 (with shipping). That's almost $300 so we can bring Pitch Car Mini to the kids group sessions at Children's Hospital.Here are some of the items your donation goes towards:
researching the most fun and interesting games for each age demographic
locating and purchasing games (some of these games are rare and out of print, hard to find, and can be very expensive)
multiple copies are needed for group sessions
copies for donations
replacement copies (when kids break or lose game components)
storage for the games
disinfectant for the games
reading rules and learning the games so that we can teach them at the sessions
testing the games to make sure they are fun and appropriate for each age demographic
scheduling the sessions with facilities
growing the business and adding more facilities and areas
fuel and travel costs
setting up games and tables, teaching the games, overseeing, and playing with as needed
business operating costs (state filing fees, taxes, insurance, web site, e-mail, uniforms, business cards, portable tables, game carrying cases, etc.)
